In this specific role, you are a key contributor in the development of our next generation products and applications, supporting our R&D team and product management with your research and customer application expertise. You are focusing on the development and execution of new methods and applications for our new products.
You interact frequently with scientists in drug discovery and life sciences and will be part of revolutionizing the current concepts of drug discovery.
As an application scientist, you also frequently communicate with our customers, offering them advanced scientific support and assay development for our most advanced technology to measure kinetics of molecular interactions.
Your tasks will be
  • As the expert on label-free interaction analysis within the R&D team, you contribute hands-on to in the innovation projects for our next generation products
  • You develop and optimize assays and methods for new applications, and transfer existing protocols to new devices
  • You contribute to the application test plans for new products
  • Together with Product Management you validate our innovations with customers, conducting customer beta testing and ensuring an efficient feedback loop into the R&D projects
  • You work closely with Marketing to develop new and competitive application data for thought leadership content
  • Together with our teams in the field, you conduct internal and external trainings for new products
  • You are involved in Product Lifecycle Management to further develop and optimize our current portfolio
  • As an application scientist you communicate with customers, offering advanced technical post-sales support and assay development
  • You work with our sales team, delivering excellent application pre-sales support, including planning, executing, and documenting proof-of-concept experiments
  • You support our Quality Assurance and Supply Chain team with your expertise
What we expect
  • Masters or PhD in life science, preferably in biochemistry or biophysics
  • at least 2 years hands-on experience in label-free interaction analysis, e.g. with SPR, BLI, GCI
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in working with proteins (ELISA; protein modifications, chromatography, interaction analysis etc.)
  • Experience in assay and method development as well as data evaluation and statistics
  • Experience in high throughput and liquid handling solutions
  • You enjoy working with customers as well as with R&D teams
  • You are a team player and like to collaborate with others
  • You are keen on working with and developing laboratory instruments
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent PC application skills
  • Fast learner and efficient worker delivering high quality results
