Do you want to be an actor in a fascinating environment such as Air Traffic Control (ATC), which ensures safe and efficient movements of airplanes in the air and on ground? Are you ready to take responsibility for the safe and continuous service of Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) systems? Do you want to contribute your knowledge and experience into this area? As part of the CNS Expert Team, you can realize this and furthermore contribute to the future development of these services.

Your responsibilities:
  • Perform radio coverage assessments and verify that the CNS services provide the required performance when flight procedures are designed or modified
  • Provide impact assessments regarding planned buildings, cranes, or wind turbines etc. to prevent unacceptable interference of CNS services (CNS safeguarding)
  • Work in close collaboration with the ATC units to ensure that their needs on CNS services are met
  • Develop and foster electromagnetic simulation skills
  • Contribute to further tasks and studies across the domains of communication, navigation, and surveillance
Your profile:
  • Relevant degree in engineering/science or equivalent (University of applied science or ETH/University)
  • Demonstrated understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) fundamentals - or previous experience as a Radio Frequency (RF) engineer is highly desirable
  • Experience with Aviation and CNS Technology is desirable
  • Convincing personality with good communication skills
  • Fluent in English, good knowledge of German and/or French

When: 01.04.2024 or per agreement
Working percentage: 80-100%
