Senior Legal Counsel - Property & Casualty Reinsurance

For our client, a global reinsurance player, we are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel, to join their Zurich-based team, focusing on all Property & Casualty matters.

About the job:

• Provide expert legal counsel and guidance on reinsurance contract law matters related to Property & Casualty reinsurance.
• Support the underwriting department by addressing and resolving complex legal queries and challenges.
• Review, draft, and negotiate reinsurance agreements and related documents.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Stay updated on legal developments and trends impacting the reinsurance industry, particularly in the Property & Casualty sector.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making processes within the organization.

About the candidate:

• Master degree in Law. Membership in a recognized bar association is preferred.
• Proven track record of at least 6 years of relevant experience in reinsurance contract law, with a focus on Property & Casualty Reinsurance.
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles and practices in the reinsurance industry.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal research tools.
