THE OPPORTUNITY

We are offering suitably motivated students / graduates a six-month paid internship as Strategic Analyst at the Market & Business Intelligence Team of the Landis+Gyr headquearters. It is an opportunity to work as an internal management consultant at a high corporate level. You will be working with seasoned analysts and strategists in the preparation of decision support material for the executive leadership team of a leading multinational company listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.

THE CHALLENGE

As typical for all corporates operating in the hyper-connected, globalized, and fast paced world of modern business, Landis+Gyr relies increasingly on disparate and voluminous sources of market- and business-intelligence for decision support in strategic leadership and executive management. Particular to the energy industry, we are facing the additional challenge of a highly disrupted business environment, considering the proliferation of intermittent and distributed renewable energy sources, the liberalization of energy markets, the regulatory pressure on C02 emissions, the availability of grid scale storage, and the revolution in electric vehicles.

THE TEAM

It is more crucial than ever that the expensively curated data-bases and information repositories maintained for our market- and business-intelligence are leveraged to their maximum potential. To this end, the Landis+Gyr has assembled a Market & Business Intelligence Team staffed by a diverse team of professionals with backgrounds in engineering, business, markets and finance.

THE POSITION

We have an Internship opening for enthusiastic students/graduates who have qualifications relevant to our discipline. We have the twin goals of a) complementing our existing team with fresh new insights, and b) offering high potential young professionals the chance to experience strategic management at the top level. The successful candidate will be working at our Global Headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, reporting directly to our Head of Market & Business Intelligence Team. You will be analysing market and business data, and will need to be comfortable with handling large data sets and their visualization, as well as preparing presentations, documents and reports for dissemination of your research material and conclusions.

THE CANDIDATE

You should be pursuing a Master’s Degree and have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Programming skills and a knowledge of grid technologies will be rated favourably. In addition, you should have a demonstrated interest in business, markets, and strategy. We are looking for entrepreneurial thinkers. It would be highly desirable, although not necessary, to have previous experience in a corporate setting. You must be eligible to live and work in Switzerland.
