The purpose of the P&C Pricing & Modelling team is to improve SCOR’s understanding of risk and to provide an unbiased, technical risk assessment of the P&C (re)insurance exposures being considered for acceptance into SCOR’s portfolio. Within this function, the Actuarial Methods and Insights team:

  • Advises and guides other pricing functions in the development of models and cross-model methodologies, and contributes to the design, implementation and sign-off of pricing systems.
  • Provides data and a range of diagnostic tools and applications to help pricing teams assess risk more accurately, evaluates portfolios with modern data science tools, and promotes self-service analytics.

  • Participate in the development and improvement of pricing and pricing-related methodologies both on the Treaty Reinsurance and Specialty Insurance side.
  • Participate in the pricing of treaties during the renewal season(s).
  • Participate in pricing analytics projects.
  • Participate in R&D activities as needed or possible.Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a PhD in a highly quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science, or have comparable and proven technical skills.
  • Have an actuarial qualification with an internationally recognised professional body, or be progressing towards actuarial qualification.
  • Have excellent computing skills in a high-level language such as Python, C++, C#, and familiarity with the MS Office suite (Excel, etc.).
  • Have knowledge of treaty reinsurance pricing tools both as a user and a developer.
  • Be well versed in data analytics.
  • Have solid experience of reinsurance pricing in a general (non-life) insurance context.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is a given.
