Within our Research & Development center based in our headquarters in Cham, we are looking for a highly skilled personality with deep understanding of metering and/or smart grid products as well as the technology and issues involved.

As Device Architect you will play a key part in the architectural and functional design of metering, load management and communication devices in close cooperation with product managers and experts within the company.

Your main responsibilities will include, among others:
  • Translate the market requirements into R&D requirements with architecture and design guidelines to meet users’ needs as well as cost, performance and schedule constraints
  • Effectively manage the breakdown of product requirements to a subsytem level
  • Write product specifications and understand & monitor the product relevant norms and standards
  • Support the device development and project teams with feasibility studies as well as during the implementation and testing phases
  • Support the sales function by interfacing by ensuring that the inputs from product management, sales and customers’ projects are translated into architecture and functional specification documents
  • Keep an overview of technology trends to bring innovative ideas to our new products

This challenging and rewarding position requires following skills & experience:
  • University level degree (FH/ETH or similar) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Software Engineering
  • Several years of experience as an engineer on embedded electronic systems
  • Proven experience within R&D project teams, preferably in meter development or smart grids projects
  • Fluent in English (verbally and written), German would be an advantage
