This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional marketing & strategy leader with significant experience to join a division that is boldly building the future of trans catheter heart valves with a clear focus on patient treatment. The transcatheter mitral and tricuspid (TMTT) division is dedicated to solving the complex challenges of mitral and tricuspid disease to transform treatment and significantly improve patients’ lives.

In this critical marketing & strategy leadership role for Europe, you will drive full strategic and operational leadership of the European TMTT Marketing & Strategy team for all relevant functional areas including: setting strategic direction, brand planning, product launch & portfolio management, upstream marketing liaison, multi-channel management, competitive analysis and strategy; clinical and economic-value based differentiation, as well as leading the strategy function, which includes driving the strategic planning process, earnings call preparation, market research, business insights/analytics, and pricing.

The Director of Marketing & Strategy, TMTT Europe will be based in based in Nyon/Switzerland and reports directly to the VP TMTT Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop agile marketing strategies and plans to grow and sustain market share, launch new products and contribute to maintaining the company image of global leadership in the field of structural/valvular heart disease.

  • Own flawless execution of a rapid launch cadence innovation pipeline

  • Own the overall BU marketing plan including all matters related to budgetary oversight, staffing, marketing programs and quality, regulatory & legal compliance.

  • Own relevant brand plans, ensuring a clear and aligned fit between the strategy of the BU, the operating plans established by the various marketing channels and the commercial organization and the specific annual investment plans behind tactics and programs.

  • Develop solid relationships with all Global departments including Global and OUS Marketing, R&D, Logistics, RA/QA, Manufacturing and Customer Service and Business Excellence.

  • Maintain and develop relationships with Key Opinion Leaders including owning and leading the relationships with targeted external scientific groups and partner organizations.

  • Drive processes and inputs for strategic planning, earnings call preparation, AOP, and sales forecasting.

  • Provide personal leadership oversight in the performance and development of all staff with a focus on direct-line reporting managers, providing feedback, coaching and performance management as required and building the next generation of leaders.

  • Manage the following functions : brand & product management, product launch, clinical/scientific marketing, congress & event, field/country-based marketing, strategy, market intelligence/insights, and pricing.

  • Lead a rapidly growing team of marketing & strategy professionals around Europe; attract, develop, retain agile, high-potential talent in line with the needs of the TMTT organization

  • Provide marketing guidance and support to the extended region of EEMEA, Canada and LATAM.


Education:

  • University Master Degree (MD, PhD, MBA) or equivalent with a strong focus on marketing and / or strategy is preferred

  • Strong business acumen and med tech expertise

  • Strong organizational skills, with a dynamic analytical approach

  • Ability to identify potential market / product opportunities and threats

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to navigate a complex matrixed organization

  • Proven leadership experience and ability to develop marketing talent.

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment both with idea generation through to agile execution

  • English fluent, and proficiency in other European language would be an advantage

Experience:

  • Min. 15 years of successful sales and marketing/product management experience ideally in a Pan-European health industry environment

  • Proven successful people management and leadership across multi-layer organization

  • Medical device or pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience

  • Experience in the field of interventional Cardiology is preferred; with an in-depth knowledge of the EU market place and KOL’s being a distinct advantage

  • Background in Sales management would be a plus, with proven skills and results, P&L management

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment
