The position is based in Monthey/Switzerland, the reference site for the Advanced Materials division

General Accountabilities And Responsibilities Include

In charge of the EHS/PSM Service,reports to the Site Manager

As part of the Site Leadership Team
  • contribute to the Site long term sustainable development.
  • ensure consistency and improvement in site operations by promoting safety.
  • foster and develop excellence at Site level in EHS/PSM
Member of the Site Emergency Response Team.

People and organization: ownership for department resources management, hiring, PDP cycle, training, coaching, developing & Talent Bank, succession planning, organizational development, and organizational efficiency.

Environment Health Safety (EHS) /Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Overall responsibility for the application of legal requirements and Huntsman standards on site
  • Site point of contact for authorities regarding EHS legal requirements (OPAM, OPAIR, SPE, SUVA, SPTRT, …)
  • Site point of contact for Corporation and Division regarding EHS and PSM requirements
  • Ensure Monthey Site conforms to the requirements of the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards requirements.
  • Coordinate the organization on site of EHS/PSM Audits and their related actions follow up
  • Ensure, according to Huntsman standards, proper
    • EHS/PSM KPI’s/LI’s reporting to Division/Corporation
    • Incidents communication/ investigation
  • At site level, actively foster and promote excellence in environmental sustainability, health, and safety (process and workplace).
  • At division level, closely work with the Huntsman EHS/PSM Centers of Excellence and other Advanced Materials sites to share and deploy world class recognized best practices.
Education, Experience And Specific Skills
  • SUVA degree (or recognized equivalent degree) as “Safety Engineer CFST” or “Chargé de Sécurité MSST”
  • University degree (Bachelor or Master) in chemistry / chemical engineering / mechanical engineering / or associated subject
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in EHS/PSM.
  • Proven managerial experience in the chemical environment
  • Proven experience with PSM topics like HAZOP, Facility Siting Assessment, SIL Assessment, Alarm Management, MoC, PSSR, Pressure Relief Systems.
  • Experience in audit management and in implementation and control of corrective actions
  • Certified auditor ISO 14001 or 45001 is a plus
  • Flexibility and readiness to adapt continuously to changing environments
  • Ability to take decision in complex and evolving situations.
  • Fluency in English and French, both verbal and written
