From mixed reality and human interaction to natural inputs and beyond, XR Tech is focused on taking new technologies from early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up.As an Engineering Manager on Perception Platform Framework in XR Tech you will lead, manage, and inspire engineering teams developing a next-generation platform for AR and VR development. As a hands-on leader, you will support design and development of Unity frameworks, cross-engine infrastructure and toolkit apis that empower developers to fully leverage the power of our future AR / VR devices. The ideal candidate will bring analytical rigor and structure to tools and framework design, solving complex technical challenges while guiding the industry by delivering the future of AR and VR development tools.

Responsibilities
  • Build and lead the development of Unity frameworks, cross-engine infrastructure and toolkit apis that empower developers to leverage the potential of our future AR/VR devices
  • Work with product management, experience developers, and our XR tech feature teams to define state of the art AR & VR development tooling for the industry
  • Drive an excellent customer experience, continually raising the bar on functionality, usability, and simplicity
  • Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement
  • Establish a solid project framework and excellent development processes
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers
  • Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering, product management, product design, and management teams
  • Operate strategically and tactically. Work on strategy and help set direction while staying on top of the day to day framework development
Minimum Qualification
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Professional experience managing 3D gameplay programmers or games / middleware tools engineers
  • Experience C++ or C#
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic environment where goals and requirements may be changing
  • Track record of delivering compelling and innovative gameplay or the tools that powered the same into product
Preferred Qualification
  • Involvement in at least one AAA game or games middleware technology in a senior position
  • Background in gameplay, tools and experience development for VR and AR
  • Experience with the Unity or Unreal game engines
  • Knowledge of machine learning driven perception technologies (orientation / hand / object tracking)
