Do you want to design industrial process solutions in a new industry that contributes to sustainable food and feed? Then you might be the new member of our Insect Technology team at Bühler.

Insects offer a unique opportunity to turn organic wastes into valuable proteins and lipids. Bühler provides process solutions for full-scope industrial insect plants including feedstock handling, insect rearing systems and processing lines. For this innovative business we look for a mechanical engineer with a specific focus on plant layouts, logistic systems and/or mechanical conveying.

Tasks

• Basic and detail engineering for mechanical systems in insect plants in close collaboration with the project execution team
• Bid evaluations with equipment suppliers in close collaboration with procurement
• Process descriptions as input for automation engineers
• Commissioning activities on client site (traveling around 10%)
• Client-specific feasibility studies in close collaboration with sales
• Technology development in close collaboration with R&D
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree, in process or mechanical engineering or similar
• Working experience in a related function (preferably in food, feed, beverage, or chemical industry)
• Good written and oral communication skills in English (and preferably German)
• Basic CAD knowledge
• Experience with mechanical equipment in industrial process plants is an advantage. Especially in the field of mechanical conveying
• You have an analytical and systematic thinking
• You are pro-active, share your opinion openly and assert yourself
• You work best in multidisciplinary teams
