The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) affiliated to the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), is recruiting a PhD student position for an interdisciplinary project at the interface between immunology, infectious diseases and glycobiology. The student will work with the different lectins generated in the group and will characterize the host response to infectious respiratory pathogens.The ideal candidate should be a good team player with basic competence in the field of Immunology and infectious disease. Preliminary work with lectins will be a plus.

Applicants should meet the following eligibility criteria:

- Have a master’s degree in biotechnology, biochemistry or immunology.

- Not have a PhD already.

- Excellent knowledge in English language (spoken and written / proficiency level)

- Experience with expression and purification of recombinant proteins and molecular biology.

The successful candidate will be enrolled in the Immunology PhD program at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI).
