Join a team recognized for leadership, innovation and diversityAs a key role within the R&D Tools Center of Excellence (CoE) team, the Advanced Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the Honeywell software engineering community with best-in-class tools, industry best practices and the implementation & integration of operational monitoring and visualization tools.
In this cross functional role, the candidate will work directly with the Tools CoE Application Lifecycle Management Director and has end-to-end ownership and accountability for the selection, deployment, integration and operationalization of company-wide engineering tools and applications: starting with the ideation and up to the final implementation through evangelization, hands-on engagement and coaching with the product development teams.
The successful candidate will seamlessly connect both vertically within his/her own practice, serving the software engineering community needs, as well as horizontally with partner organizations in IT, Operations and Cyber Security to improve the integration, adoption and standardization of Honeywell DevSecOps tools.
Tasks
What you will do at Honeywell?
DevSecOps Tools, Practices and Infrastructure
Standardize, develop and maintain the Honeywell global development tools and infrastructure, such as CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, configuration management and build automation for a community of more than 15’000 users
- Coach and mentor R&D teams towards DevSecOps excellence with a strong focus on secure development practices, tools and techniques (binary analysis, static analysis, secure development lifecycle)
- Engage with R&D teams to identify engineering tools integration needs, define technical requirements and supervise implementation
- Engage with the Tools CoE ALM Director to define the tactical and strategic tools roadmap
Assist & architect common BI and data aggregation infrastructure to collect and visualize DevSecOps metrics
- Align and integrate live information from multiple engineering and operational data sources
- Derive inference from data to identify and drive improvements
Required Skills
8+ years relevant experience (Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, DevSecOps)
Experience with secure development practices & tools is a strong plus (static & dynamic analysis, binary scanning, …)
- Be accurate and deliver quality - have a “roll up your sleeves and dive in” attitude
- Experience with the common cloud environments, with a strong understanding of infrastructure as code
- Practical knowledge of commonly used Big Data, BI and Data Analysis infrastructure components and visualization frontends
- Experienced with deployment and operation of monitoring and logging systems (e.g. ELK, TICK)
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, highly dynamic environment
- Quick learner and always open to work on the new tools and technologies
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstration of critical thinking
