Team The Swisscom Data Lake Tribe is where data infrastructure and data enablers’ themes are developed. You work with a leadership team composed of seven colleagues from different backgrounds, who love to work together and have developed a good team spirit. Our backgrounds in computer science, software engineering, data analytics, artificial intelligence, product management, finance and psychology combine to make Swisscom data driven and to provide great products and experiences for our customers.

The project Our highly skilled agile teams are developing and operating Swisscom’s data platforms (big data and warehouses). At the interface between infrastructure, applications and data, our tribe builds systems that handle petabytes of data, process millions of messages per second and serve thousands of users each day. We are embarking on a journey to the cloud, where the destination is a unified data platform with a lakehouse architecture.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree (ETH/Uni/UAS) in computer science or a related field
  • Senior IT/software architecture/software engineering skills are a must with a proven ability to deliver high-quality and secure solutions
  • Able to drive technical roadmaps developed together with agile teams and supported by stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon web services with experience working on data platforms, big data and warehousing technologies
  • Experience in real-time analytics and data modeling; familiar with SAFe
  • Structured and innovative thinker who is able to connect the dots
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills on a technical Level (from engineers to C-level executives)
  • Very good written and spoken English; French/German a plus
  • Fast and tenacious learner, willing to dig deeper into the systems that are to be integrated
  • An outstanding team player who can also work autonomously
