Our Global Service Business is one of the fastest growing and most profitable parts of Molecular Devices business.We are currently looking for a motivated and flexible Field Service Engineer (m/f/d) to join a team of dedicated Field Service Professionals and to contribute to our success by helping to identify new ways for us to add value for our customers, consistently providing timely, high quality, on-site troubleshooting and maintenance services for high-performance bio-analytical measurement and research systems.In this role you will provide professional field service support for all Molecular Devices products, performing to agreed service levels for all customers within the assigned territory. This will include installations, service repair and preventative maintenance and assisting other field service colleagues when required to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.This is afield-based role with frequent travel across dedicated territory in Switzerland as well as to other European countries. The ideal location for the role would be inBasel areawith fast access to a major airport, but the location is flexible based on nearby cities to the preferred location and willingness to travel.What we’ll get you doing:
  • Become technically proficient in the support of our Biologics, BioResearch, Drug Discovery and Imaging products so that you can provide consistent, world class levels of service and support to our customers within life science and pharma research
  • Take ownership of all assigned customer service calls, repairs, installations, preventative maintenance and OQ schedules and ensuring timely closure of outstanding service issues
  • Efficiently deliver our Services to minimize customer downtime and our costs
  • Identify business opportunities that help us continue to deliver double-digit growth
  • Complete all administrative operations within target timelines including call scheduling and call closure and providing detailed field service reports for all service activities
  • Manage tools and test equipment inventory ensuring diagnostic tools are properly calibrated as required
  • Promote a consistently positive image of the service organization, our company values, and the value of our products and services
The essential requirements of the role include:
  • Recognized qualification in electrical, electronical or mechanical engineering field in electronics/engineering or similar (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics)
  • Relevant work experience in technical service in an independent field-based role with high travel or willingness to change for an in-house service role into a field-based role
  • Life Sciences instrumentation and automation experience (an understanding of measurement & precision) would be useful
  • Bio-analytical or Clinical instrument industry experience would be preferred
  • Good mechanical, electronics and electrical experience essential and knowledge of assembly level fault finding and testing
  • Ability to communicate in English and German fluently
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • working independently
  • being flexible and able to regularly travel and work away from home within Switzerland and Europe and occasionally globally
