Role Description

Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will play an integral role in scaling finance organization as iOnctura’s programs move into the next clinical development stages. In addition to ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and efficient finance operations, the Financial Controller will be working closely with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and analysis. Primary Job Responsibilities

· Manage month-end and year-end closing process, working closely with project managers to ensure accuracy in accounting for accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations and working to tight deadlines.

· Support the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.

· Identify opportunities for process improvements and accounting policies to ensure a strong internal control environment and drive implementation of practical, and where appropriate automated solutions.

· Communicating and partnering with Research and Development teams to develop and maintain robust accrued expense models used for month-end close accounting.

· Prepare financial reports to Executive Team, Project Team and BoD. Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of business

· Manage tax compliance activities, corporation tax (including R&D tax credits), VAT, Stamp duty, Transfer Pricing

· Assistance in preparing statutory and consolidated financial statements. Coordinate all external audit, tax and financial reporting activity

· Manage ERP and other key finance systems

· Participation in special projects as needed

Required Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) a must

· Big 4 experience

· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with a strong understanding of challenges facing an clinical stage biotech

· Creativity, flexibility and an entrepreneurial mindset; ability to do more with less

· Experience with financial analysis and forecasting

· Strong knowledge of corporate finance and other accounting theory, principles and practices, including IFRS and US GAAP

· Experience managing and implementing systems to support finance operations in a biotech environment

· Excellent verbal and written and communication skills

· Self-motivated, flexible, able to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines. Able to make things happen with minimum supervision and to work independently and effectively as par of a cross-functional team

· Experience working in a growing start up environment strongly preferred

· Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail

· Must be a hands-on, roll-up your sleeves leader

· Ability to work a hybrid schedule

· Strong proficiency of software including Microsoft Office, Power BI, Sharepoint and ERPs

· Read, write, and speak fluent English. French and Dutch knowledge a plus

· IPO preparation experience, including IFRS or US GAAP conversion a bonus
