As a successful applicant, you will join our R&D Innovation in Analytical Chemistry department in Geneva . You will be involved in all practical and organizational aspects of a research laboratory, dedicated to the development of new analytical methods and strategies, from sample preparation to data processing, with a focus on Flavors & Fragrances authentication .

Assistant Scientist R&D Analytical Chemistry

Work location: Satigny (Geneva), Switzerland

Key Responsibilities:
Apply state-of-the-art analytical methods (e.g. GCMS, LCMS and IRMS) and explore advanced technologies to support laboratory heads on projects related to Flavors & Fragrances , including authentication
Plan, prioritize, automate and execute experiments to build solid knowledge and answer analytical questions with the ability to take initiatives
Deliver reliable results on time
Identify technical problems and actively propose solutions
Report work progress in a laboratory notebook, technical reports, and during project review meetings
Actively participate to the maintenance of the laboratory and the instruments

We value:
BSc or MSc in Chemistry OR CFC with at least 5 years of professional experience, preferably in the Flavors & Fragrances industry
Work experience in a research environment
Solid theoretical background in Analytical Chemistry ( e.g . GCMS, LCMS) including knowledge of molecules identification and quantification
Strong expertise in sample preparation and separation science (e.g. flash chromatography, preparative GC, chiral GC)
Experience in Isotopic Ratio Mass spectrometry, and/or statistics and advanced data processing would be an asset
Curiosity and passion for natural raw materials and their manufacturing processes
Creativity , open-mindedness, team spirit, excellent communication skills and problem solver attitude, capability to work in an international environment
Good knowledge of English and French (oral and written)
