MSC Cruises is looking for a commercial counsel to join the Corporate Legal Department at its Head Office in Geneva (Switzerland). The candidate is a commercial lawyer with 4-8 years of post qualification experience able to support a fast-paced, demanding environment within dynamic and highly diversified international company. You will form part of a growing, collaborative legal team based in Geneva, with other lawyers based in international offices.

  • Admission to the bar or equivalent qualification. Common law, Italian or Swiss qualification is preferred but not a pre-requisite;
  • Approximately 4-8 years post-qualification experience in a law firm or in-house with exposure to international operations;
  • Perfect command of English (spoken and written). Fluency in French or Italian is an advantage;
  • Strong project management, communication, drafting and negotiation skills;
  • Can-do attitude, pro-activity, flexibility, willingness to learn and develop professionally in line with the growth of the company and its varied activities;
  • Demonstrated ability to organize your work, balance competing priorities, manage deadlines and close matters in a fast paced, rapidly evolving environment.
The candidate will be required to work autonomously and alongside other members of the team on:

  • drafting, revising and negotiating a wide range of contracts relating to the main activities of the company, including agreements for supply of goods and services, sponsorship agreements, licence agreements, collaborations, flight charters, SAAS agreements, concession agreements, MOUs, NDAs etc.;
  • providing pragmatic, commercially focused, concise legal advice to internal stakeholders and ensuring the company operates in compliance with regulatory requirements and applicable laws;
  • contributing to development and implementation of contracting and procurement policies, templates and training materials.
