MISSION

Lead the benchmark of potential supplier and screening of technology for mechanical or electro-mechanical devices like pumps, motor-pumps and valves in aggressive environment (fluid/gas/pressure)

Plan and realize the engineering activities within the Mechatronic Component design team, in order to develop and integrate/validate the actuators in the system

Ensure PO CES Actuators components meet systems requirements.

Develop and deliver the Expertise related to Components of Mechatronics System into the Company for the Customers projects.

Support launch for new product lines (Actuators component level) in accordance with the innovation roadmap (including POC methodology)

Lead Suppliers product development performance

Ensure Actuators products lines transfer from Research to Development with smooth methodology and tools transfer

Primary Responsibilities

To lead the benchmark of potential supplier and screening of technology for new energy applications.

Identify, prioritize the actuator technology to screen for linear and rotary motion (powered or unpowered) in gas/liquid

Identify potential suppliers

Analyze patent and literature

Contribute to partnership with university/research labs

Manage the budget associated for benchmarking

Plan and realize the engineering activities to develop and integrate/validate the actuators in the system

functional analysis,

specification of the actuators and its validation,

BOM cost optimization for the actuator

design validation, (PO and supplier one)

process validation (PO and supplier one)

actuator integration validation test definition,

risk management,

life cycle analysis,

write lessons learn.

To ensure PO CES Actuators components meet systems requirements

Develop Components Technical Specifications for Actuators components (for both innovation and development)

Ensure full traceability between PO CES system design and Actuators components requirements.

Analyze all testing results CVP & DV/PV (from suppliers and internal testing at component and system level) to check the Actuators component’s performance is at expected level in the system

Ensure that development tools are up to date in his team and control their application

Ensure that Actuators component design is compliant with industrial requirements for prototype & Mass production assembly in Plant.

To launch new product lines (Actuators component level) in accordance with the innovation roadmap (POC methodology)

Ensure bottom up innovation by supporting and sponsoring ideas from his team

Promote and report results of the ongoing POCs in accordance with the innovation roadmap

Enhance the level of partnerships within and outside of PO,

With the support of purchasing develop partnerships with key suppliers to maximize synergies

To lead suppliers product development performance

Support WW Core-Teams with training and explanation about performance, Innovative solutions and key competitive advantages of PO CES Actuators

Clarify PO Intellectual property to his manager

Support RFI/RFQ for any related Actuators needs and Actuators BOM price optimization

Provide technical support on Steering committee with Actuators key suppliers in order to ensure project is performing well.

Answer questions from internal customers related to Actuators performance issues

Develop partnerships with Actuators key suppliers to maximize synergies

Ensure Actuators products lines transfer from Research to Development with smooth methodology and tools transfer

Profile Requirements

Personal Background

MS or PhD in Mechatronics and /or electronics for actuator technology

Other academic backgrounds leading to mastering several of the above specific skills

English (fluent)

French or German (occasional)

Job Technical Skills (generic)

Quality System Knowledge (ISA/TS 16949, IQSR, ISO/TS 17025, ISO 26262)

Product Development Tools

Organizational aptitudes. Ability to manager personal and team activities

Database applications, INVISION, INPRO.net

PO Clean Energy Systems methodologies and tools

Communication skills: English. Fluent, including technical discussions in the field.

DFMEA tools

8D and FTA analysis

Job Technical Skills (Specific)

Knowledge of actuators and Actuators technologies and pricing

Knowledge in plastic and metallic materials.

Knowledge in industrial processes (molding, extrusion, welding, cutting, stamping, automated assembly).

Knowledge of measurements techniques (physics and metrology)

Knowledge on EMC

Knowledge of SPC and productive containment methods (firewall)

Knowledge of problem solving techniques (PDCA, Shainin, FTA, DMAIC,…)

Job Soft skills

Good interpersonal relationships, strong organizational skills, efficiency management & communication

High level of initiative

Leads objectives settings and assessment process for the Component Design associates
