We are looking for a Credit Officer to facilitate lending for our clients by assessing creditworthiness and processing relevant paperwork. Credit Officer responsibilities include preparing loan applications, evaluating clients’ financial information and calculating risk ratios. The Credit Officer is also in charge of loan structuring and of the credit analysis of standard and non-standard transactions. It includes collateral risk analysis (any type of collateral, statistical analysis, product reviews), including corporate counterparts’ assessments (balance sheet review, business model, cashflows projections), legal risk (regulatory risk related to the borrower, regulatory/legal risk related to the collateral, perfection of pledge, cross boarder risk, review of legal opinion jointly with Legal expert), compliance risk (AML, compliance report review, structural risk, flow of fund).

Main Responsibilities

  • Credit Officer who is able to work independently on standard and complex residential and commercial mortgage transactions as well as cash flow-based loans to corporates in the Swiss region.
  • Review, analyse and assess credit transactions (standard and non-standard).
  • Handling of Credit Request, including discussion with stakeholders.
  • Recommend decisions to the respective credit authority level as well as risk-mitigating actions.
  • Provide credit advice to the Client Relationship Officer and their teams to facilitate sustainable growth, aligned with the Group’s risk appetite and credit policy.
  • Coordinate specific initiatives and provide support to the teams (e.g. specific taskforce).
  • Review credit policies/procedures/internal guidelines.

Skills And Experience

  • Education in banking, finance or equivalent, bachelor’s degree would be preferable.
  • At least 5 - 8 years of experience in Credit Risk Management.
  • Fluent in English (and preferably also in German); French would be a valuable plus.
  • Good command of the MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a dynamic environment.
