About The TeamOur professionals in our Risk Management Team cover a diverse range of areas from market risks, investment and credit risks to finance, human resources and marketing. Our corporate teams are an essential part of our company, ensuring that we’re setting our businesses, clients, customers and employees up for success.Our Risk Management Team works globally across all lines of business to advise internal stakeholders on the impact of regulatory requirements and how to balance these with the firm’s needs. Their diverse mandate means they also provide input on new business strategies, product lines, policies, training, operational processes, risk mitigation and control.The RoleIn this role, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of various risk elements including Market Risk, Fiduciary Risk, Interest Rate Risk, Investment Suitability and the emerging Environmental, Social, and Governance Risks (ESG). This position requires experience in establishing various risk frameworks and policies intended to protect the bank and maintain strong compliance with the regulatory requirements and challenges. Strong candidates will possess a working knowledge of banking systems and of the regulatory environments both in Swiss and other regions impaction the legal entity. The role is expected to lead a small team and engage with all lines of business together with the firm’s Legal, Audit, and Compliance departments. This position requires you to exercise sound judgment and the ability to challenge, recommend and implement solutions.Responsibilities
  • Proactive, self-sufficient and dynamic candidate prepared to leverage their subject matter expertise as well as technical skills to achieve results independently and as part of a team
  • Maintain current and working knowledge of the regulatory environment impacting the legal entity
  • Analyze and prepare responses to regulatory queries impacting the Risk functions
  • Engage and advise the business on new product development to identify risk elements and regulatory considerations.
  • Function as the key contributor and coordinator of the legal entity Risk Committee
  • Participate in individual and department goal development and execute on tactical strategies for goal attainment
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (or bachelor’s degree with relevant risk management experience) required or evidence of comparable academic / work achievement
  • Significant experience in the financial services industry, preferably within Swiss or European Private Banking industry or equivalent experience working in the Risk management role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to challenge and make recommendations
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to present findings
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to summarize complex topics concisely and drive practical outcomes
  • In depth knowledge of Swiss regulatory framework and the risks associated with investment offerings, suitability, markets, interest rates and ESG.
  • Able to interface with business counterparts to develop comprehensive solutions
  • Experience working with internal groups including Legal, Audit, and Compliance to ensure consistent understanding of requirements
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/Access/PowerPoint)
  • Command of written and spoken English required. French, German or any other language will be considered as an advantage
