Laboratory Engineer

Our client is a pioneer in Drug Discovery and Development and one of the frontrunners in Personalised Healthcare. As the world`s largest R&D spender in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics domain, they work on a vast number of drug discovery & therapeutic areas and are highly recognized internationally. For a part-time contract position based in Rotkreuz, we are currently looking for a Laboratory Engineer. The project has a duration of 6 months, with possibility of extension.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan, perform, evaluate and document experiments in the BSL-2 laboratory in a wide variety of project phases.
  • Planning of the daily laboratory routine for yourself and the sub-team.
  • Coordination of the experiment content with internal interfaces and stakeholders.
  • Prepare the required technical documentation in English.
  • Evaluate, interpret and present the results of measurement series according to regulatory and project specific requirements.
  • Identification, minimization, tracking and reporting of risks and issues according to process and project definitions.
  • Questioning of existing laboratory processes / sample setting methods, identification of optimization needs from a technical and scientific point of view and subsequent independent implementation.
  • Potentially handle infectious human material.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Relevant Swiss working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required.
  • Master’s degree in natural sciences (a technical education as Laboratory Technician or Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences are accepted, if the candidate holds several years of laboratory experience).
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the development of medical devices, and the integration of individual components into the overall system.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Agile project setup, working in matrix.
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary interfaces as a project member in the development team.
  • Experience with GSuite / SAP / Simulink.
  • Hepatitis vaccination is required, including titer confirmation not older than 6 months.
  • German and English fluency in speaking and writing.
  • Experience dealing with technical challenges, as well as a curious and explorative attitude.
