Your role

Do you understand Operational Resilience? Can you interact with stakeholders at all levels to deliver multiple tasks? We are looking for someone who can work independently and as part of a small second line of defense team to provide assurance that UBS is operationally resilient – globally - in order to protect itself, its clients, the markets it operates in, whilst ensuring regulatory compliance, in the face of internal and external hazards.

We’re looking for an Operational Resilience Specialist to:
  • maintain and adapt an approach to monitor – from an assurance perspective – the UBS journey to becoming operationally resilient
  • deliver assurance activities across the Important Business Service Identification; Impact Tolerance Limit setting; Value Chain Mapping and Scenario Testing
  • focus on assurance of Swiss-based businesses i.e. P&C and GWM, but supporting activities across all businesses globally as required
  • have an awareness of regulatory developments and contribute to responses to public consultations as required
  • drive forward the transition of assurance activities from project to business as usual
  • optimize processes by eliminating non-value add activities and utilizing synergies, especially with Business Continuity Management and Recovery and Resolution Planning activities as appropriate
  • collaborate with colleagues across all business divisions; group functions; C&ORC; external consultants and peer banks to deliver a globally consistent approach to 2LoD assurance of operational resilience activities

Your team

You’ll be working as part of the Business Continuity & Resilience team within Compliance & Operational Risk Control which is part of the function within Group Compliance & Regulatory Governance (GCRG). We are responsible for functional oversight of all Group Functions and Operational Risk as well as owning and maintaining the firms frameworks for operational risk, compliance, regulatory reporting Sarbanes Oxley(SOX) and data protection. In addition we provide control assurance testing across areas such as cyber, SOX, US Chief Financial Officer Attestation (CFOA) and Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR).

Your expertise

  • knowledge of operational resilience coupled with an understanding of business continuity management and an appreciation of cyber security
  • an awareness of operational risk, in particular the concepts of third party risk management, risk appetite, risk tolerance and risk capacity
  • an understanding of banking operations and the finance sector more broadly
  • project management skills
  • strong presentation and communication skills (fluent in English, spoken and written. German would be advantageous too)
  • proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; and a working knowledge of MS Teams.
