Position: Fullstack React Node.js Developer

Starting date: asap

Mandatory: E.U Nationality or Swiss Residence Permit already

Location : Geneva

The client’s goal is to drive innovation in the travel industry and to craft an industry leading marketplace. Our team aims to unleash the power of data to help hotels and vacation rental owners understand their performances and drive more actions in the marketplace. For this position, we are looking for someone curious and passionate about technology, with an emphasis on web development and big data pipelines.

Team
The team consists of about 6 engineers. We follow an agile practice including daily standup, grooming meetings, retros. Developers are given a high level of ownership to permit learning and fully own the products.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Technical Product Manager, Product Manager, UX Designer and Data Engineers

to understand requirements and shape new product features

• Participate in technical design discussions to challenge and suggest alternate approaches

supported by evidence

• Be responsible and develop scalable, performant and robust web applications end-to-end (frontend, APIs, data pipelines)
• Test, debug, monitor and support our applications, APIs and data pipelines
• Coordinate with other technical teams to review capabilities and ensure external capabilities are a fit for team needs

Your profile
The ideal candidate will have experience in all listed areas, but we will interview candidates
with related experience with a track record of learning new technologies.

• Strong experience in web development, including API and performance optimization
• Experience in JavaScriptframework, with a strong preference for React
• Experience in backend development in Node.js, TypeScript
• Experience in relational databases and optimization
• Experience in building data pipelines using big data technologies, such as Qubole and Spark
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Nice-to-have Qualities

• Knowledge of several Amazon Web Services AWS
• Knowledge of GraphQL and Apollo federation
