GBTS System Engineer (Senior Flight Physics - Synthetic Training Device)

  • Define and derive system requirements based on customer contracts and market needs to design Pilatus pilot training products, with a focus on flight simulation models and control loading systems certification and Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
  • Coordination of ground and flight data gathering activities with the Aircraft Engineering business unit (flight physics, avionics, propulsion, mechanical systems), with focus on flight simulation models and control loading systems development.
  • Support the technical activities required to design the system architecture, including the inputs from/to hardware and software engineers to ensure correct and verifiable system implementation as well as to define and perform necessary tests.
  • Support system installation and testing at customer site until system enters into service, which may require international travels.
  • Write and review technical documentation part of the project / product lifecycle, such as technical specifications, system requirements and system design specifications applying the ISO 15288 and ISO 12207 approaches.
  • Support after-sales technical activities (e.g., query answering, technical investigations) as required by the customer support team.

  • Master degree in Aeronautical Engineering with a focus on flight physics and complex systems.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in System Engineering with Matlab Simulink and a focus on simulation control loading systems (e.g., MOOG) integration and interaction with flight dynamic models for flight simulators and training devices with complex hardware/software in the loop.
  • Experience in system engineering methodologies (e.g., 15288/12207/MIL-498) and standards.
  • Experience in engineering requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and quality standards.
  • Willing to travel internationally
  • English spoken/written knowledge comparable to C1 level; German knowledge is an advantage
