Are you an inspiring leader looking for your next step? Watson-Marlow is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to drive profitable sales growth in Switzerland. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading all strategic activities and operational teams, ensuring an efficient, effective, and productive business. You will play a crucial role in aligning with WMFTS Strategy and Spirax Sarco Engineering plc values while being a core member of the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Leadership Team.
Due to the nature of our clients in this region the successful candidate will have fluency in both English and one local language (German or French), Italian also an asset.

This role will focus on:


  • Lead and manage all aspects of the Switzerland business, including Sales, Operations, HR, EHS, IS, Sustainability, Legal, Marketing, and Finance, with a focus on driving profitable sales growth and identifying strategic new business opportunities.
  • Provide a vision, direction, and purpose for your direct reports and their teams, serving as an authentic leader, coach, and advisor. Make key decisions on budget allocation and resource management, creating a followership.
  • Foster development and career progression within your teams, ensuring colleagues have the necessary skills, motivation, and fair and transparent recruitment processes. Support robust talent management across CEE and EMEA OpCos as a member of the CEE Leadership team.
  • Drive Total Customer Solutions by aligning Switzerland with Watson-Marlow value chains and collaborating across EMEA and Watson-Marlow teams. Understand and meet customer needs, identify growth opportunities, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Lead continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives to increase sales, generate leads, identify market opportunities, and drive efficiencies in your teams. Comply with Spirax Sarco Engineering Group policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Inspirational leadership style, approachability, excellent influencing and communication skills, and the ability to gain followership.
  • Deep understanding and experience of running all aspects of a sales operation, including full P&L responsibility.
  • Strong commercial background coupled with operational General Management experience is essential.
  • Experience growing the Switzerland market, ideally across industrial process capital equipment or life sciences.
  • Strategic thinker with experience in leading change initiatives. Ability to communicate and implement a vision for a "best-in-class" sales organization. Strong collaboration skills.
