Responsibilities:


As a key member of the Global Procurement team, your negotiation and ability to work in inter-functional teams and a matrix organization are the keys to the success on this position. The scope of this role is limited to PPG procurement requirements globally. Annual purchases managed by this position typically range from $130MM to $500MM depending on the portfolio. This position reports to the RM Procurement Director, EMEA.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop market intelligence and a deep knowledge of the global business environment to identify market risks and opportunities to PPG within your category.
  • Work with global and regional internal stakeholders to understand their business and technology strategies and from this determine their RM procurement needs for both the immediate and longer term.
  • Understand the global strategic objectives of the PPG Procurement team.
  • Work with regional managers assigned to your category to understand the nuances of their local markets, specific local conditions and the risks and opportunities these present to PPG.
  • Using your market, stakeholder and local insights develop a global sourcing strategy for your category that aligns with business needs, mitigates identified risks and maximise value opportunities for PPG globally.
  • Drive engagement and alignment through collaboration on your sourcing strategy to Procurement and Business/Technical leadership both regionally and globally.
  • Negotiate with suppliers at both global and regional level to secure the RM that PPG business units need at the best terms for PPG to deliver measurable and advantaged value in alignment with approved sourcing strategies.
  • Establish accurate forecasts of raw material category market movements and be able to explain movements in forecasts with stakeholders globally.
  • Accelerate the pace of cost savings and innovation for the category through effective communication and value selling with both internal stakeholders and suppliers both regionally and at global VP level.
  • Work with your regional category managers to deliver value capture savings for the category managed.
  • Deliver on target working capital goals including consignment and payment terms.
  • Establish and manage strong relationships with key suppliers and business stakeholders both locally and globally.

Profile:


You have studied to degree level or above.
You will need to have good analytical skills and a natural capability in handling data to establish the strategic vision for your category. Your knowledge and ability to assess chemical market will support your understanding of the market and the customer perspective.
