Position Summary

As Global Head of Food Law, you will lead Nestlé’s Food Law Centre of Expertise, a world-class connected team of trusted, valued, and innovative business partners to leverage knowledge, connect and engage on Food Law.

The Global Head of Food Law will partner with our key business stakeholders and work collaboratively with Nestlé’s Quality; Regulatory; Nutrition, Health, Wellness; and other key functions. The ideal candidate will be client-service oriented, highly collaborative, and a person who excels at delivering high quality, actionable, and timely legal advice.

A Day in the Life of the Global Head of Food Law

  • Responsible for the Global Food Law strategy, vision, and priorities
  • Monitor and map significant regulatory and legal developments
  • Lead best practice and knowledge sharing for the Global Food Law Network
  • Provide training, education, and guidance on food safety, labeling, composition, product claims, and related legislation
  • Business partnering with key business stakeholders including Nestlé’s Marketing Function
  • Consult including with the Quality and Regulatory Functions on food safety related matters including crisis situations such as product recalls
  • Consult on risks related to claims, labeling, food law related advertising and taxation and other regulatory issues
  • Provide food law support for strategic litigation, authority enforcement and disputes
  • Advise and support advocacy activities
  • Participate in external food industry associations

What will make you successful

  • Minimum 10 years of food law experience (in both a law firm and in-house legal department a plus)
  • Proven track record in business partnering and working collaboratively with Quality; Regulatory; Nutrition, Health, and Wellness; and other key functions
  • Litigation experience a plus
  • Experience in leading through influence
  • Proactive, analytical, clear, and accurate communicator including under pressure
  • Fluency in the English Language is essential
