Job Purpose and Impact

The Global Insights Director will be responsible for leading the insights capability. In this role, you will develop insights and customer engagement strategies in alignment with the company growth strategy, governing primary research, market and competitive intelligence, insight generation and activation and data modeling. You will work closely with marketing to support consumer insights, sales driven insights and customer decision journeys.

Being based in our global commercial center of excellence, this is a newly created position where you will be responsible for setting up insights capabilities across our organization.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage interfaces to all business functions requiring insights, including product design, research and development and marketing.
  • Ensure synergy and alignment of insights and resources with other business units across product categories, channels, and regions, and develop insight dissemination strategy to allow for effective, widespread use.
  • Oversee research functions focused on using customer, sales, brand, market and competitive research in tandem with statistical analysis and advanced analytics to surface meaningful and actionable insights.
  • Stand up a new team for the business unit center of excellence and ensure the right mix of talent, capabilities and resources to support insights that will enable strategic growth in line with company goals.
  • Select and manage relationships with strategic partners and vendors in data analytics and research to understand market trends and manage the company portfolio accordingly.
  • Lead the customer insight data strategy and act as an input to strategic partners to ensure optimal data infrastructure and analytical tools are in place to support insights.
  • Create, develop and deliver strategic insights that incorporate expected future technology developments, including artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches, to produce a competitive advantage in the marketplace and deliver the growth and revenue goals set by the organization.
  • Provide strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience, five years of supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with business strategy, marketing strategy, market research, competitive analysis, data analysis and design
  • Ability to guide visualizations and effectively communicate insights to provide concrete implications for business decisions
  • Proficiency in customer experience, data analytics and qualitative and quantitative research techniques
  • Experience leading a line business in the food and agriculture industry
  • Experience with strategy development for a cross functional team in a transformational role
