  • Ensure UCB assesses and understands the potential impact of evolving regulatory requirements related to HSE in general and to the Product Safety Stewardship aspects specifically.
  • Transversally drive the implementation of global programs related to Product Safety Stewardship and Industrial Hygiene, ensuring a consistent approach across UCB’s operations and sites, hereto liaising with Talent, Sustainability and the Global HSWB team.
  • You will specifically take the lead in projects related to ensuring REACH compliance (incl. Reach (eco)tox testing).
As a UCB Global Product Safety Stewardship Manager, you will contribute by:
  • Screening of the regulatory context in which UCB is operating, to ensure UCB is aware and understands the impact of potential impact of evolving HSWB-related regulatory requirements.
  • Hereto, externally representing UCB at Industry Associations such as EFPIA and Chemleg (as needed) and internally represent Global HSWB at UCB’s Regulatory Information Network (RIN).
  • Acting as a back-up in preparing and revising SDS according to applicable regulations (REACH, CLP (GHS) and transportation regulations.
  • Ensuring UCB’s HSWB ambition covers the entire value chain and is known and supported by our external partners (CMO and other suppliers).
  • Ensuring the consistent implementation of Global Industrial Hygiene strategy at Global and site level, applying the above to the consistent implementation of UCB’s Industrial Hygiene program (covering the workers’ exposure monitoring to chemical & biological agents, LAA, exposure to noise, ergonomics, ….) and on reducing exposure by ensuring the systematic integration of the hierarchy of controls in the design phase of new installations; e.g. through the implementation of UCB’s containment strategy…,
  • Identifying best practices applied at site level to manage Industrial Hygiene and leverage them across UCB (through their integrating in UCB standards etc) for continuous improvement.
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a multinational industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • HSE generalist able to work on environmental, safety and health issues.
  • Good understanding of (eco)toxicity testing.
  • Excellent knowledge of REACH, CLP(GHS) and international transportation regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of industry best practices related to Industrial Hygiene and/or the network and willingness to acquire this knowledge
  • Working experience in SDS authoring
  • Having a good knowledge of HSE related ISO management systems (ISO 450001; OHSAS 180001)
  • Able to fluently communicate in English. Knowledge of other languages, especially French, is a plus.
