Chemours is seeking a Global Technical Service Manager to join our growing Viton™ technical team! This position will report directly to the Viton™ Global Technology Manager at our Meyrin technical laboratory.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Manage a global team of Technical Service scientists in Europe and/or other regions
  • Work with product, commercial and marketing teams to define technical goals that will support the commercial team to meet Chemours business objectives
  • Define the resources that are needed for success and work with leadership to appropriately prioritize
  • Have close links to manufacturing technology leaders at the manufacturing sites and assign technical resources to support manufacturing plant projects and initiatives
  • Travel to key customers and end-users to understand developments in the market and facilitate your team to create new and improved solutions for them
  • Understand product / application / R&D technical developments and assign team members to support them
  • Provide direct technical support selected strategic customers or developments
The following is required for this role:
  • Master or equivalent degree in a technical discipline, either chemistry, chemical engineering or polymer science
  • Minimum 5yrs experience in a technical role working with elastomers
  • Experience in elastomer compounding and processing technology
  • Working capability of French, both written and oral
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral
The following is preferred for this role:
  • PhD or equivalent in a technical discipline, either chemistry, chemical engineering or polymer science
  • >5yrs experience in a technical role with fluoroelastomer
  • Working knowledge of industries where fluoroelastomer is used (e.g. automotive, semicon, aerospace)
  • >5yrs experience in a customer facing technical support role in the rubber industry
  • Working capability of other European languages (e.g. German, Spanish, Italian)
