The Department of Marketing at HEC Lausanne invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant (PhD student) in Marketing/Consumer Behavior.

Expected start date in position : September 1st, 2022 or mutually agreed date

Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years. The maximum duration is 5 years

Activity rate : 60%

Salary: Gross salary starting at 39’000 CHF per year (following 2015 official salary grid)

Workplace : University of Lausanne, Chamberonne Campus, Switzerland

Your responsibilities

  • A minimum of 50% of the graduate assistant’s time will be dedicated to the completion of a doctoral dissertation
  • A maximum of 50% of the graduate assistant’s time will be dedicated to providing teaching, administrative and research support for the supervisor

The successful candidate will work on the completion of a PhD thesis, the content of which will be related to Marketing/Consumer Behavior.

Your qualifications

  • MSc in Marketing, Psychology, Management or closely related disciplines
  • Excellent English proficiency
  • Excellent familiarity with data analysis
  • Familiarity with academic research methods
  • Strong motivation to complete a PhD dissertation in Consumer Behavior
  • Eligible to enter the PhD program of HEC Lausanne (https://www.unil.ch/hec-phd/home.html)
  • Passion for Consumer Psychology & Behavior, in particular those topics in synergy with the supervisor’s research interests: consumer emotions and well-being, indulgent/luxury consumption, emotional consumption, enjoyment of consumption.
  • Independence, curiosity, initiative, stamina, focus, passion for scientific research.
