The programme

This is a unique 24-month experience where we offer you a permanent position along with a specific programme with rotations in different teams to build your expertise and professional skills.

Based on a permanent contract, our graduate programme includes on- and off-the-job components, places the emphasis on teamwork but will also explore your skill sets, further your development and set specific objectives.

Technology & Operations (Tech&Ops) designs and integrates software applications ranging from portfolio management systems, trading platforms to banking and corporate solutions. The division is responsible for some of the Pictet Group’s key innovations, while ensuring the continuity of business operations and developing custodian and fund administration services.

The Tech&Ops Finance team is responsible for budgeting and forecasting processes, performs management accounting tasks and financial analysis as well as processing invoices linked to the Pictet Group’s operations and IT activities.

Your role

A series of rotations in Geneva will allow you the opportunity to develop a comprehensive financial overview of the banking industry from operations and IT to front activities, along with a chance to build financial analysis competences.

Over the course of the Graduate programme, you will acquire the expertise to build and conduct complex data analyses (e.g. budgeting and forecasting) and give support for projects aimed at achieving continuous improvements to financial and operational processes. As part of the Tech&Ops Finance team, you will contribute to expanding the team’s capacity to deliver major change in support of the Tech&Ops strategy.
  • Providing the Tech&Ops Finance team with assistance in assessing financial and analytical costs (e.g. by preparing and analysing the monthly financial results and quarterly management accounting results, as well as multi-year planning modelling).
  • Developing a deep understanding of the mechanisms used by Tech&Ops for allocating costs to business lines and legal entities.
  • Owning and driving specific analyses of Tech&Ops data to identify trends, interpret data and communicate key findings to management.
  • Contributing to projects linked to investments and operational efficiencies (e.g. MI reporting improvements).
  • Acquiring knowledge of SAP/Microstrategy and establishing strong relationships with Group Finance.

Your profile
  • Background in maths, statistics and/or degree in Finance would be a plus, strong numeracy skills.
  • Rigorous, well organised, strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of the MS Office suite; knowledge of Tableau and other programming languages would be a plus.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities (academic, athletic, charitable, etc.) is appreciated.
  • Good communication skills and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken), with other languages an asset but not required.
  • Must be resident in Switzerland.
