Does quantitative modelling excite you? Do you enjoy analyzing various risks within capital and liquidity management, treasury, finance, and related areas? For the Recovery and Resolution Modelling team we’re looking for Team Head who can:

  • analyze and understand the impact of hypothetical stress scenarios on the firm’s balance sheet, liquidity situation, capital, and funding status
  • maintain, develop, and implement integrated forecasting models and ad-hoc calculations to estimate key financial information – e.g., LCR, Balance Sheet, HQLA and Capital Ratios – under Recovery and Resolution scenarios
  • analyze and identify data sources to support empirical modelling and parameter choices
  • play a key role in interacting and discussing with stakeholders across the institution in various committees like the Design Group and build strong networks and connections across all levels
  • negotiate across various stakeholders and sound assumptions as well as results

Your team

You’ll be working in / heading the Recovery and Resolution Modelling team within Group Treasury in Zurich (Opfikon). We are responsible for the implementation, design and development of liquidity & funding risk models simulating recovery and resolution scenarios as well as their maintenance and continuous improvement. These models are used to determine the funding needs for UBS Group, regions, and key entities globally in a recovery or resolution situation. Our team collaborates with the Group Recovery and Resolution Planning team, financial reporting teams, functional (business) experts and regional treasury teams.

Your expertise

  • a university degree in economics, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related field with a strong understanding of financial markets and accounting
  • at least 4 years of relevant experience in treasury, controlling, accounting, trading, risk, or product management – leadership experience for small expert teams is a plus
  • experience in the Treasury department of a globally operating bank and on top of the latest regulatory requirements from a liquidity & funding perspective
  • demonstrated ability to meet multiple deliverables simultaneously and manage tight deadlines
  • strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to apply quantitative techniques to solve practical problems while being pragmatic
  • strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics clearly and intuitively
  • interest and insight in Recovery and Resolution strategies as well as other treasury related matters
  • proactive and independent working style with a strong drive to learn and succeed
  • a Senior Treasury (Liquidity) specialist with significant treasury experience in the banking and finance industry, with particular focus on liquidity and funding
  • familiar with liquidity regulations across jurisdictions experience in funding in resolution is a big advantage
  • hard worker who can deal with ambiguity, tight deadlines, multiple stakeholders and able to stay calm under pressure
  • motivated to establish and drive projects as well as taking ownership
  • an analytic thinker, with the ability to provide practical solutions
  • an excellent communicator and presenter with an ability to influence stakeholders
