I am working with a leading luxury consumer goods company with a huge global presence and recognisable brand. As the company continue to expand the operations, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Logistics and Production Planning to join their dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of logistics, production planning, and inventory management to meet customer demands while maintaining optimal cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive logistics strategy, ensuring efficient transportation, warehousing, and distribution of products while meeting quality and timeliness standards.
  • Manage 2 department teams and responsibility for direct reports.
  • Lead and manage a team of logistics and production planning professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, manufacturing, sales, and customer service, to align production planning with market demand and customer expectations.
  • Optimize inventory levels and develop effective inventory control strategies to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational improvements, including on-time delivery, fill rate, cost per unit, and lead time.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and digitalization to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, import/export regulations, and safety standards in all logistics operations.
  • Foster strong relationships with external partners, including carriers, suppliers, and vendors, to negotiate favorable terms and service level agreements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and production planning, preferably in the consumer goods industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing end-to-end logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Experience in a
  • Strong knowledge of production planning techniques, inventory management, and supply chain best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving common goals.
  • Analytical mindset and proficiency in using data-driven insights to optimize logistics operations and improve performance.
  • Experience with implementing and utilizing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other relevant logistics software.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build relationships with external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import/export processes is highly desirable.
  • Must speak fluent French AND German
