The Head of Supply Chain (SC) is accountable for consistent and flawless supply chain execution on BU and at the site level.

Provide oversight for demand and supply planning of all DPS products and services, establishes and maintains operational systems and processes to maximize effectiveness, and manages an end-to-end view of supply chain. Drive commercial demand alignment, business planning, project & product management, solution development, enhance operational support across the network. In collaboration with Operations and Commercial Development, develop supply strategies and plans that enables the targeted strategic growth of the company.

Additionally, this role is responsible for Facility Management and single point of contact for Service providers because the facility at the site are all rented from the landlord.

Key Responsibilities
  • Flawless coordination of site planning alignment (from demand to execution)
  • Robust sourcing information
  • Ensuring through the warehouse/ logistics team that the movement of material across the site and distribution of products to the customers is conducted
  • All medium- and short- term planning processes to ensure fully integrated asset capacity planning, labor planning and material planning
  • Providing forecasting scenario integrating demand within operation network capacities over a rolling 2 to 5 year time horizon in collaboration with Controlling, Procurement, Operations, Logistics and Warehousing
  • SC Team management including optimal resources allocation, hiring, gap analysis and talent development
  • Accountable for Planning and Material Master Data
  • Continuously improve supply chain processes and develop capabilities, including SAP Blueprint implementation and execution
Leadership
  • Serves as member of the DPS BU & Basel Site Leadership Team, representing the local SC departments
  • Leads the monthly Site Supply Review Meeting, provide a monthly forecast of all site-based deliverables, supports Finance/Controlling/Program Management financial outlook for the site as agreed at the meeting and submit the Biologics Division
  • Leads SC team, empowering team members and definition of clear roles and responsibilities
  • Ensures warehouse/ logistics processes are executed flawlessly and timely, ensuring real-time processes are in place
  • Oversees Inventory Management and Materials Flows.
Key Requirements
  • Very strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate and manage not teams in a traditional hierarchical organizational structure and also enable teams in a matrix structure
  • Experience with change management and ability to lead a large operations group through change process while maintaining the operational performance
  • Ability to create a highly collaborative and inclusive environment necessary for a team to be effective
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong SAP background with skills in financial, scheduling, and materials planning is a must
  • Broad management experience of both professional and hourly employees and experience with multi-shift configurations an advantage
  • Has a strong sense of operating in a proactive manner driving themselves and their team towards key millstones and project initiatives
  • Has the strength of character to have difficult conversations with internal team members, and/or management when required
  • Strategic mind-set with quality decision making, while balancing risk
