Collège du Léman is one of Switzerland’s most prestigious international day and boarding schools, located on the edge of Lake Geneva in view of the Swiss Alps. It is a truly international community with more than 150 different nationalities among the 1800-day and 240 boarding students. They come together on a green, village-like campus covering 8 hectares.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a full-time English-speaking History and Geography teacher, you will have a good knowledge of the Swiss Maturité syllabus. Enthusiastic and qualified to teach at different levels in the French-speaking Secondary section, you will be able to motivate students regardless of their level. You will work closely with a team of colleagues in developing the French-speaking section.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be able to combine the rigour and requirements of the French-speaking academic system with a perfect command of the English language.
  • Use and develop existing resources to teach the Humanities in the Secondary section.
  • Actively participate in the school life of the Secondary school and collaborate with the Humanities team.
  • Promote the school’s mission and vision by helping students, both external and internal, to develop their individual strengths by supporting them to become global citizens and to achieve their very best.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

Mandatory, not an​​​​​​​ option:

  • University degree in History or Geography, at least a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Experience in teaching and exam classes.

Prefer​​​​​​​red:

  • CAPES or pedagogical studies validated by the DIP
  • Master’s degree
  • Teaching experience in an international school, preferably in History and Geography.
  • Knowledge of Swiss Maturité programmes.
