Swiss based Dufour Aerospace is developing an eVTOL platform based on tilt-wing technology to make future manned and unmanned electric and hybrid electric aircraft a reality. Dufour’s prototypes have already flown many hundreds of flights – both manned and unmanned. The combination of VTOL operation, aircraft design and software development expertise puts Dufour Aerospace at the forefront of Advanced Air Mobility.

Our internship position targets Master’s students with a minimum commitment of 6 months and a potential interest in subsequently working with us.

Tasks

We are seeking an intern who is passionate about aircraft, control systems and software development to join our team and work on our in-house Guidance Navigation and Control system and supporting software. In this role you will work closely with our flight control and simulation engineers to develop software for test and analysis of our test aircraft.

  • Flight test support for testing existing GN&C features on our small scale aircraft
  • Develop tests for failures and edge cases of GN&C features in simulation.
  • Maintaining and documenting the GN&C code
  • Improve flight test data processing pipeline
  • Develope automated testing suite for continual development
Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Background in robotics, control, computer science or a related field
  • Project experience with programming
Desired

  • Project experience working with C++ and Python
  • Good eye for clean code
  • Familiar with control system and estimation theory
  • Familiar with aircraft dynamics, both fixed and/or rotary wing
