The client is a famous NGO based in the center of Geneva.

Job Description

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures, and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices.
  • Assess need for any security reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if required.
  • Manage the security resources and suppliers, and keep current with emerging security alerts and issues.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security enhancement and development efforts and make use of our partners providing security coverage.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to obtain protection services and products together with IT Security team
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform security improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
  • Manage the services around Security and Network including the technical platform, the vendors and teams providing these services.
  • Point of contact for IT Network Architecture
  • Deploy/supervise through partners the management and maintenance of all Network systems.
  • Deploy, manage, and maintain all security and network systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and end-point protection software or other security tools.
  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights following defined identity & processes by our Security team
  • Manage connection security for local area networks, the company web site, the company intranet, and e-mail communications.
  • Manage and ensure the security of databases and data transferred both internally and externally.
  • Design, perform, and/or oversee penetration testing of all systems to identify system vulnerabilities. Review periodically all firewall rules.
  • Design, implement, and report on security system and end user activity audits and take-up with our vendor and internal teams on remediation.
  • Develop and lead our Threat hunting, security patching and Vulnerability management & remediation of our internal and external platforms/devices with our external vendors and partners.
  • Ensure best practice security patching process is setup and maintained across all suppliers with agreed SLA’s and KPI’s and regularly reported.
  • Monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret activity and make recommendations for resolution together with our vendors
  • Monitoring, detecting & Incident response
  • Ensure proper security measures are put in place and any finding remediated on a timely manner with the appropriate teams
  • Recommend, schedule (where appropriate), and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breach together with our security & network vendors.
  • Download and test new security software and/or technologies.
  • Provide on-call security support to end-users with the help of our Security and Network vendors and liaise with our internal security team for guidance and policies definition.

The Successful Applicant

  • Fluency in English
  • Advanced university degree in computer science, engineering, or 5 years equivalent work experience
  • One or more of the following certifications:


o GIAC Security Essentials Certification

o GIAC Security Leadership Certification

o ISACA Certified Information Security Manager

o Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Security

o (ISC)2 SCCP

o (ISC)2 CISSP

o (ISC)2 ISSAP
