IT Network Engineer

Permanent contract at 100% - starting 01.08.2023

contract location: Bulle or Glion, Switzerland

Profile and experiences :


  • Master’s degree in computer science
  • CCNA certification is required; any other certification from Cisco, Microsoft Azure, VMware is a plus
  • Fluent in English and French
  • At least 5 years’ experience as IT Network Engineer, with strong knowledge of CISCO eco-system
  • High Awareness of IT security
  • Experience in tightly regulated environments (banking, pharma, financial) is a plus
  • Managing incident and service requests with a ticketing system
  • Problem-solving attitude; collaborative team spirit

Under the general guidance and supervision of Sommet Education Chief Technology Officer, the IT Network Engineer will be responsible to:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve the internal IT Infrastructure LAN/WAN/WLAN
  • Provide expert network oversight and the successful delivery of projects
  • Lead analysis of end-to-end systems to resolve issues and recommend best practices
  • Be in charge of Cisco Network LAN & WAN (switching, routing, Firewall, WIFI)
  • Define and implement Sommet Education Infrastructure standard, manage infrastructure monitoring and alerting
  • Manage VMware VCenter, Corporate backup (Veeam and Commvault)
  • Manage the building access control system
  • Together with the CTO: be in charge of identity management, access protocols and overall security
  • Act as the IT Infrastructure SME for campus activities and projects
  • Identify areas of improvements and propose enhancement plans
