IT Team Lead

Are you passionate about and experienced in IT systems, and do you want to work in a fast-moving startup, where you can make a significant impact? Then come lead our IT team!

In your day-to-day work, you will lead a small team that handles all the in-house IT at Verity, enabling the rest of the Verity team to work efficiently and securely. On the broader scale, you will drive strategic decisions, such as whether to invest in on-premise systems or move functionality to the cloud, and will also manage our company-wide IT budget and spending.

Depending on your interests and skills, you will be able to take on further responsibilities, such as playing a key role on Verity’s Security Board, driving and supporting security efforts related to our autonomous drone systems in the field, or helping administering our Jira instance.

What you’ll do

• Manage and lead Verity IT, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of all IT systems, and exceptional support for Verity’s employees
• Develop our IT strategy and execute on it, to ensure that our IT systems and processes scale with the company
• Build up and lead the IT team, to ensure that we have the right people doing the right tasks
• Work collaboratively with all the Verity teams and 3rd party vendors to ensure an agile, efficient, robust, and secure IT environment, resolving complex problems, and driving related projects
• Manage IT spending, consistently identifying options to reduce costs, while maintaining an exceptional operating environment, allowing employees to maximize their performance

What you bring

• Professional experience with:
  • Linux and Windows servers in a virtualized environment
  • Active Directory / LDAP
  • Office365 administration
  • Planning and maintaining backups
  • On-premise and cloud-based systems
  • Designing and implementing processes around the above systems
• Excellent understanding of networks and network hardware
• Professional experience from a similar position
• Additional plus:
  • Excellent understanding of IT security
  • Experience with Jira administration
  • Experience with ISO2700x, SOC 2, or similar standards
  • Experience with AWS and Azure
  • Experience with CI/CD systems
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken. German is a plus.
