Take advantage of a major Swiss association and join our team in Ostermundigen as intern and you will find a dynamic and culturally diverse working environment.


In 2015, the TCS Mobility Academy founded the world’s first and still biggest sharing-platform for electric Cargobikes, carvelo.

With carvelo, the Mobility Academy provides access to 400 shared cargo bikes in more than 100 cities for nearly 35’000 registered users.

As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for an intern who will build an analytical tool helping to improve our daily operations with a particular focus on finding new locations for our carvelo-stations in urban neighbourhoods. With this work she/he contributes to the sustainable development of the business model and enables data-driven improvement of our on-site planning.


Objectives

In this 6-months internship, you will first (with participation of the carvelo team) analyse existing data (station location, frequentation, etc.) and design different scenarios for future station-planning considering potentially new data (location type, population density, population flows during day, etc.). To reach this goal, you will develop a model, that can be based on AI tools or library, which integrates the existing data to give advice on the location of carvelo station in either new cities or where we already have stations. The goal is to help us to to enlarge the platform usage and to grow in a sustainable way.


Your challenges as Internship

  • Study and use the data already available in carvelo team
  • Search and use different geodata sets and population development scenarios
  • Define a model to predict the ideal development of new stations
  • Calibrate and validate your model with existing data or with new implantation
  • Work with big data sets and potential AI tools
  • Be part of the young and dynamic carvelo team
