Job Description

60% of the world’s population live in Asia, Middle East and Southern Africa region, hosting exciting, dynamic economic and policy environments. Working in the region brings opportunities to partner broadly to expand access to patients and to engage as policies are being shaped. Your talent is needed to help guide us in our policy engagements throughout this region, and support with particular focus on Australia, Korea, Taiwan, Turkey and India.

As Director APMA Policy you will develop and implement a Novartis policy agenda to create an optimal business environment that fosters innovation, is open to value based approaches and broadens patient access, with specific focus on selected advanced markets in APMA – Australia, India, Turkey, Taiwan, Korea. You will drive capability building on key policy areas by identifying priorities, developing relevant tools, messages and lead topics across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop/adapt relevant public policy positions, tools and data to suit the APMA region and roll out to countries
  • In coordination with country PA leads for you will identify key policy priorities to support our business needs, drive disruptive access priorities and co-develop and execute PA positions and strategies to on the decided priorities
  • Build solid Public Affairs strategies in alignment with the country PA teams and support and guide execution
  • Provide political analysis of trends in the markets and its and impact on Novartis, and advise senior management on policy
  • Represent the markets in the above country trade associations and with key stakeholders in the region

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:
  • 7+ years background in the pharma industry
  • Knowledge of advanced health care systems, with focus on HTA, Value based pricing approaches, pricing and reimbursement and regulatory environments
  • Extensive Pharmaceutical Market access/Public Affairs/policy experience
  • Fluent in both written and oral English
