Tasks

GEM’s focus is to support the Lufthansa Group airlines in their challenging task to provide a safe and cost-effective operation. The team contributes so by managing all off-wing related engine business matters, such as removal planning and shop visits and thus provides its share to this objective.

This challenging and exciting position includes the following prime tasks:

  • Defines the engine type off-wing maintenance strategy for the fleet in his/her responsibility.
  • Establishes and optimizes overall engine removal planning and coordinates the respective plan with the Lufthansa Group airlines, always ensuring sufficient spare engine provision.
  • Manages engine shop visits at the MRO service provider and take associated technical decisions in coordination with the GEM Engine Commercial Manager.
  • Measures and monitors the MRO performance as per contract and initiates reviews with the MRO provider.
  • Establishes and coordinates modification (AD/SB) implementation standards with the Lufthansa Group CAMOs and airlines.
  • Supports procurement projects for new engine MRO contracts.

Requirements

We are looking for a new colleague with a strong passion for commercial aviation, ideally with some years of experience in CAMO/MRO Engineering and engine know-how. In addition, a high degree of personal responsibility and sense of duty are particularly important, as we operate in a HRO environment.

  • Higher educational degree in aeronautical, mechanical, or electrical engineering or completed vocational training coupled with several years of professional experience and HF-Degree in aviation industry.
  • Knowledge of Engine systems and their regulatory environment is a strong asset.
  • Familiar to work self-organized.
  • Persuasive verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to always work accurately and reliably even under time pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills paired with solution-oriented thinking as well as initiative-taking attitude.
  • Capable to deal with rapidly changing conditions and circumstances.
  • Fluency in English, German fluency is highly beneficial.
  • Business acumen and knowledge in business economics is advantageous.
