How you will make an impact:

The Clinical Trials Division with the Pharma Services Group within Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Financial Analyst to be a key member of the Account Receivable – Credit and Collection Finance team to support senior leaders in data analytics, financial reporting and forecasting processes in Center Valley, PA (US) or Basel, Switzerland (EU). This role would suit an individual with a passion for data analytics and a real desire to develop and succeed within a fast paced, innovative global AR-C&C function.

What you will do:
  • Reporting and analytics on Accounts Receivable related topics, Cash Flow forecast, D&B analytics etc.
  • Support the Account Receivable forecast process by building forecast models
  • Build spreadsheets and manipulate data using functions, formulas, and graphs as well as utilizing visualization tools such as PowerBI/Tableau to undertake basic statistics, reveal trends and analyze variances.
  • Develop, standardize, and improve regular analyses and reports to share business and financial insights, and support monthly /quarterly /annual forecasting and budgeting process (i.e. support MBR, QBR, AOP, etc.)
  • Independently investigate data issues and/or information given, ask pertinent questions and identify root causes, collaborate with functional business partners and system support to improve data quality
  • Support in the daily credit and collection activity
  • Work cross-functionally with FP&A, Commercial and Customer Services teams to resolve any outstanding discrepancies on AR
  • Participate in trainings to engage non-finance teams in finance related compliance and processes
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining appropriate internal controls to ensure

How you will get here:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience or Relevant working experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Prior experience within in Credit and Collection.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to communicate analysis and recommendations in concise informative manner
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel are required; HFM/CMR and PowerBi are preferred
  • Data management experience and the ability to manage large sets of data and accurate reports
  • Highly analytical and possess a strong business sense
  • Organized multitasker: you prioritize your workload, in a fast-paced, high-growth environment,
  • Strong team building skills working with a diverse group of people, even if geographically dispersed
  • Self-motivated, higher level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through Practical Process Improvement (PPI)
