• Assume the leadership of a defined category or geography of spend (direct or indirect) in a region or HQ, ensuring appropriate resources and capabilities to attend business expectations.
• Ensure total control of spend ($100m-$300m) through proper commercial strategies.
• Manage the assigned portfolio of sourced raw materials, chemical intermediates, and AI’s, developing and maintaining supplier relationships which will lead to the most competitive prices and ensuring availability and sustainability of supply.
• Be the Procurement representative in Supply Chain and/or Project Teams.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with procurement policies and procedures

Accountabilities

• Manage the category spend of [$100m-$300m] ensuring best possible value creation, align COGS and Supply Strategies
• Is and acts as an Ambassador of the Procurement organization. Make Syngenta the customer of choice of selected producers, leveraging already existing relationships
• Provide expert market knowledge / intelligence for the components within the allocated AI portfolio
• Supports the management of strategic relationships, including negotiation of major contracts and agreements, contract performance and service delivery. Advise the sourcing community GPSCM/SCT in make or buy decisions and take the lead for supplier selection applying a strategic supply market view
• Assist in the development and implementation of category sourcing strategies based on long term objectives
• Work with the T&E community to identify better scaled digital marketing capabilities globally and locally by building capabilities in local marketing teams, standardizing processes, and tools, driving implementation and adoption of marketing automation systems, and leveraging digital management assets across markets
• Use external supply market intelligence to guarantee the competitiveness of Syngenta spend.
• Be an Ambassador of Syngenta, internally, but also externally when working with 3rd party Suppliers and ensure business alignment with Global/Regional business strategies for the managed portfolio
• Manage the risks associated with strategic and critical suppliers
• Build and provide expert market knowledge for supply markets

Qualifications

• 5-7 years business experience, preferably including
• 2-3 years in procurement or with procurement related experience (e.g. marketing, sales, supply chain, planning)
• Fluent English
• Experience in Fast moving industries
• Business management particularly Financial & Legal & Contractual aspects of purchasing.
• Business ethics and Corporate Governance.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills on agreements which carry high business impact.
• Ability to establish strategic direction & develop & implement sourcing strategies.
• Excellent communications skills in order to interface with Suppliers and Internal Customers.
• Team player- ability to build a cohesive team to deliver strategic goal.
