An organized, updated and expanded WIN contact database. This will contribute to the broadening of stakeholders in the investment-development chain and enable targeted information and promotion campaigns. The successful organization of meetings on investment for development.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Individual Contractor will clean, update and organize the World Investment Network (WIN) contact database and also facilitate the organization of meetings pertaining to international investment for development and sustainable financing. Under the supervision of the Chief of the Office of the Director in the Division on Investment and Enterprise, the Individual Contractor will:

WIN database:
  • Review the WIN database and in light of the diagnosis, make recommendations with a view to increase the number of recipients and their engagement.
  • Provide statistics and relevant analysis pertaining to recipients’ behavior and formulate recommendations to increase the impact of communication campaigns.
  • Develop attractive, engaging campaign templates.
  • Re-organise the WIN database to allow for stakeholder (government officials, business representatives, Investment Promotion Agencies, etc.) and regional segments in order to be able to send targeted campaigns to specific segments of the database.
  • Create a new sign-up form which will incorporate the new segments and liaise with divisional focal points in order to have the new form embedded on divisional websites.
  • Take steps to ensure that the outgoing campaigns will be personalized and reduce the number of incidents when mass-messaging.
  • Consolidate the WIN recipient database with WIF attendees and other divisional contact databases.

Other assignments:
  • Assist in the organization of expert meetings, conferences and workshops on investment for development - amongst others through the preparation of pre- and post-meeting documentation, liaising with participants, scheduling and other duties as required.
  • Prepare web-based materials and inputs for the division’s websites, social media campaigns and other new media initiatives. Assist with the WIF website migration.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, backstopping and assessing the implementation of programmes and projects.
Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications: An high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: At least five years of experience in general office support or related area is required an experience in the organization of events. Experience in dealing with databases desirable.
Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in oral and written English or French and knowledge of the other is required. Knowledge of another UN language an advantage.
