The Role

The Technical Leader for European Market is responsible for conducting several activities in European, Turkish and CIS Markets, just as:

• To offer technical assistance concerning the use of Vale`s products, focusing on feasible and sustainable solutions
• To coordinate all technical interactions with customers, covering the entire technical/technological cycle of interface with steel customers, collaborating through application engineering on how to use and obtain the best result with the use of our products, guiding and supporting the sales area
• To carry out technical simulations to optimize customer iron ore burden
• To support development of new products aiming to capture opportunities that consider technological trends adopted by customers in different markets
• To proactively act with customers and academic/scientific communities to understand environmental legislation and processes and products challenges for customers to be carbon neutral in the next years, reading/learning market trends and supporting adjustments of our iron ore products for new and clean processes in iron and steelmaking, in terms of CO2 emission.

What we seek

Considering the extremely high technical and technological level of our customers in Europe and the fact that all technical interactions should be coordinated by Technical Leader for European Market, position requires both managerial skills and deep technical expertise in iron ore engineering application for ironmaking process.

• High level of technical education, ideally metallurgical engineering background (M.SC or PhD desirable)
• Extensive practical experience in mining, logistics and iron and steel making processes
• Experience in the use of iron ore in the steel industry
• Knowledge of Vale’s operations, processes and iron ore products
• Fluency in English and preferably in Portuguese
• Network in the global ironmaking market
