The main purpose of this role is designing and developing actuators, valves and thermal management modules and their components in the development centre of Johnson Electric in Murten (Switzerland). We are looking for a motivated, independent Development Engineer who will contribute to our success by bringing the technical expertise needed to develop best-in-class products.

Your responsibilities will be to:
  • Design and develop mechanical components for actuators, valves and thermal management modules
  • Kick-off of solutions for assembly and tests fixtures, and design review of the concepts of them
  • Change management of designs, drawings, and product-defining documents according to change management process
  • Quality and process aspects - taking into consideration the design for manufacturing, assembly and the quality procedures of JEPDS
  • Product care, continuous improvement, and engineering support in case of quality issues
  • Represent Engineering in front of customers for development and product care purposes
  • Write and present regular progress reports for project managers and clients
  • Work abroad during a work assignment in China where you can gain a deeper knowledge and become a technical expert on our manufactured products, while discovering new cultures and work environments at the same time
Our requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience from similar environment but fresh graduates are also welcome
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Microtechnic or similar
  • Good communication skills in English AND French/German
  • Understanding of design and engineering procedures
  • Experience with CAD software (Siemens NX, Teamcenter)
  • Technical know-how of modern manufacturing technology in plastic and metal processing is a plus
  • Experience with hydraulics, fluid simulation is a plus
  • Independent and systematic personality with strong problem-solving skills
  • Motivated to join other sites for longer training and knowledge exchange
  • Motivated, initiative, diligent mindset
