Joint Venture (JV) Operations Manager - Your future position?

Possible Locations: Givaudan sites in India

As a JV Operations Manager you will manage a Joint Venture of the F&B division to provide Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality and Facilities support and oversight on behalf of Givaudan, while ensuring cooperation and teamwork principles. You will handle the relationship and coordination at local level to guarantee smooth supply with safety, quality and service requirements while optimizing production costs. You will report to the Head of Global F&B Ingredients Manufacturing.

Possible locations of this role: Vernier (Switzerland), Pedro Escobedo (Mexico) and Sant Celoni (Spain).

You will:

  • Help design the Operations strategy of the JV and definition of related objectives based on input provided by other department.
  • Implement the strategy, oversee the execution of tactical and operational plans locally to meet goals.
  • Identify organizational cooperation and process improvement initiatives (Operations Excellence) at local/site (JV) level to reduce cycle times, increase yields, improve on time delivery, quality of products and cost savings opportunities.
  • Support our partner in managing Technical process, raw materials, equipment, capacity, safety and quality.
  • Work through our partner to support local efforts across all functions locally to drive the deployment of an outstanding safety culture, strong productivity improvements and inventory reductions.
  • Support Operational management of the JV in cost, productivity, safety, quality, procurement and all operational aspects to ensure Givaudan interests (aligned with our partner) are well considered and preserved.
  • Ensure a good interface with Givaudan Functions
  • Provide work direction and guidance to the project team.
  • Contribute to the annual human resources processes by providing feedback to line managers regarding performance of project team members
  • Ensure a good control of IP and clarity and transparency with the partner
  • Lead technical discussions with the partner (remote and field trips)
  • Capture all insights and share for the benefit of Givaudan and the partner

You?

Your professional profile includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations (supply chain, quality and/or materials management, management of technical projects, systems implementations, enterprise risk for local organizations)
  • Expertise in manufacturing concepts (Six Sigma, Lean, Continuous Improvement)
  • Proficiency in English
  • Expertise in Chemistry and Engineering with capabilities to guide a JV partner team in remote
  • Expertise in product industrialization and/or fine chemicals manufacturing.
  • Experience with Chemistry and Chemical Engineering operational requirements
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts (e.g. Opex, Capex, Product costing, investment evaluation).
