Your ‘day to day’

As a Manager Scientific & Medical Affairs - Combustion and Aerosol Science, part of the Scientific & Medical Affairs (SMA) team in Life Sciences, you will lead strategic activities related to combustion and aerosol science in the context of smoke-free products, coordinate projects related to combustion and aerosol science, engage with and communicate on the topics externally, and serve as the company expert in cross-functional strategic projects.

More specifically, you’ll
  • Lead and coordinate projects related to combustion and aerosol science to:
  • generate scientific evidence on the operating conditions of smoke-free products.
  • ensure that scientific studies on combustion and aerosol science are aligned with cross-functional needs.
  • serve as key point of contact for third parties working on combustion and aerosol science projects.
  • Lead the strategic activities related to combustion and aerosol science for smoke-free products by:
  • co-developing company positions for smoke-free products related to combustion and aerosol science.
  • acting as key specialist for Scientific & Medical Affairs in the field of combustion and aerosol science in cross-functional projects.
  • Conduct strategic engagements and develop communication materials on combustion and aerosol science by:
  • leading the development of briefs and communication materials on combustion and aerosol topics to be used internally and externally.
  • reviewing materials related to combustion and aerosol science for smoke-free products.
  • engaging with external scientific experts in the field of combustion and aerosol science.
  • Communicate the science behind non-combusted and smoke-free products at both internal and external events to a variety of audiences, including scientific experts, key scientific opinion leaders, regulatory and fiscal authorities, and media.
Who we’re looking for
  • PhD in the field of physics, chemistry, or engineering, preferable in combustion and aerosol science.
  • Substantial experience in the field of aerosol or combustion science, preferably related to smoke-free products or biomass applications, demonstrated experience in consolidation and communication of aerosol or combustion science for various external audiences and purposes.
  • Sound expertise in carrying out and coordinating scientific work with third-party research organizations.
  • Expertise and knowledge in fundamental principles behind aerosolization, smoke formation, heat and mass transfer, combustion science, thermochemical degradation of biomass.
  • Strong knowledge of tobacco and smoke-free products.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills, including the ability to motivate others.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
